Recently, many residents have been in contact with me about the poor standard of Royal Mail deliveries across our area. I completely share these concerns and have first-hand experience of post arriving over two weeks late.
Reliable postal services are essential for everything from medical appointments to legal documents, and the current situation falls far short of what people should expect.
This is a serious issue, and I know that local postal workers are working incredibly hard but are just not getting the support they need from Royal Mail to deliver the quality of service residents deserve.
I have been writing to Royal Mail to raise these issues, but am being told that the service is not experiencing serious problems and that the service never dipped below six days a week. Yet the same concerns are still being raised repeatedly by residents.
That’s why I want to survey residents and hear first-hand how extensive the problem is and how many residents it impacts. This is a serious issue, and with it being raised again and again, I am not satisfied with Royal Mail’s response.
I will continue to pursue this matter until residents receive the level of service they deserve.
