Campaigning to Save our Post Office

Joshua Reynolds MP and the local Liberal Democrats are leading a campaign to protect the town’s Post office as its current home in the Nicholsons Centre faces closure. With the centre due for demolition, the Post Office must relocate by May, leaving thousands, especially older residents, at risk of losing essential face‑to‑face services.

“My primary concern at the moment is that we may be without a Post Office in the town centre and that would be truly awful for the town,” said Joshua.

“It’s important for individuals day-to-day with various banks that are no longer based in the town, we’ve got to have a Post Office.

“It is a lifeline for those older and more vulnerable residents in the town centre, whether they’re collecting a pension, whether they’re using banking services, the in-person facilities that the Post Office has really are a lifeline for those individuals.”

Joshua campaigning for an alternative location is found as quickly as possible. He has launched an online petition, and is gathering residents’ support to show just how essential this service is.
