Ray Park Avenue Street Survey

Some time ago we conducted a survey in Ray Park Avenue about on-street parking on Ray Park Avenue between Ray Mill Road East and the entrances to Addison Court (west side) and Camperdown (east side).

Residents expressed concern that parking on street blocked their view when they tried to exit their drives and made it hard for vehicles to pass.

After speaking to highways officers, we learnt that it single yellow line restrictions, preventing parking during the daytime only, (which were a popular measure in our first survey) couldn’t be justified given that the main issue identified by residents was poor visibility and that visibility issues would exist at all times of day.

Consequently council highways officers have proposed the scheme detailed on the plan provided with this survey, which involves significant additional lengths of double yellow lines on Ray Park Avenue.

Our new survey thus seeks to confirm that ALL residents are happy with these proposals, either as they are or with only minor changes, before we ask for the scheme to be installed.

Whilst our last survey found overwhelming support for taking some action, only about half of residents replied. This time we really hope for a higher response rate, so that any scheme which is implemented works for all residents. If you support or oppose these proposals it is important you get your voice heard.
