Motorists can keep their eyes on the road – via the web
Traffic congestion around the Borough is getting worse, so a handy new online feature is being added to the council’s website offering motorists the chance to see how busy traffic is at 20 key locations in the Royal Borough before they even leave the house.
New CCTV traffic cameras which were installed in the run-up to the Olympics are all fully operational and the images they take are available to view on the website.
At present the camera image only refreshes every 20 minutes but the Lib Dems are pushing for this to be improved so it is in real-time.
To view the images go to www.rbwm.gov.uk/travel/map.aspx, click on ‘CCTV’ and choose from the 20 camera sites.
