Focus now on Paralympics

With the closing ceremony of the hugely successful 2012 Olympic Games, focus in the Borough now shifts to the Paralympic Games and especially the three days of events at Eton Dorney – Friday 31 August to Sunday 2 September.

With access arrangements at the northern entrance there will be a much reduced impact on the Royal Borough:

• Access for all spectators, athletes and officials will be from Court Lane/Marsh Lane.
• The designated rail stations will be Slough and Windsor & Eton Riverside (free shuttle buses will be provided).
• Park and rides will operate from Upton Court, Slough, and Stafferton Way, Maidenhead.
• The Olympic transport hub at Royal Windsor Racecourse will not be used.
• Spectator numbers are expected to reduce to around 10,000 a day (compared to the 25,000 for the Olympics).

All event day parking zones to the south of the river will be removed, with the exception of those in Eton Wick and at Tithe Barn Drive (off Monkey Island Lane). Residents there will continue to need the special Olympic parking permits issued by the Royal Borough. Further information is available by calling 01628 683800 or by emailing parking@rbwm.gov.uk

Waste collections in the Royal Borough will be as normal.
